Thanks for a Great First Night & Let's Do It Again!

Greetings,
Thanks to the eleven people who came to the Community Room of the John Hensel Civic Center last night to make Memory Boxes to be given by the staff of Clarian Hospital to parents who have experienced the death of a child. We completed 10 boxes, 5 flannel blankets, 8 fleece blankets and 3 beaded bracelets in a little under two hours! For a first time effort, that's pretty amazing.

We have our next get-together scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. We'll be at the Civic Center again, which is located at 10701 N. College Avenue in Indianapolis. I did try to schedule the work room at Hobby Lobby, but they were very un-user-friendly (would only let us come on a Friday night, we had to give them dates for a year in advance, we had to buy everything we used from them, and we had to be cleaned up and out of the room by 8 pm). Debbie at the Civic Center, on the other hand, was extremely helpful and thought what we are doing was a wonderful thing.

Please feel free to spread the word about this project to your friends, co-workers, neighbors - anyone who might be interested. If we inundate Clarian with boxes, other hospitals also give out Memory Boxes to bereaved parents.

Blessings,
Mary
